On November 9, 2018 at 9:50 am in Fairview Lodge Whitby, Ontario, our loving mother passed through Heaven's Gates to begin her new journey at the age of 96.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57, Oliver Simoneau ( 2001 ), her son Earling ( in Infancy ) and her daughter Elaine ( 1999 ).

Left to mourn are her children Oliver ( Yvette ), Remi ( Sharon ), Hayward ( Colombe ), Kevin ( Gloria ), Noreen ( Ron ), Connie ( Rob ), Holly ( Gordon );
15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.

She was the third of ten children, out living all but one brother Raymond.

Mom was so very proud of her service to her country. She served in the Canadian Women Army Corps, holding the rank of private from 1942 to 1944.

She was stationed in Kitchener, Ontario and in Quebec City, and even met Mary Churchill, daughter of the Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Mom was also a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 of Gaspé.

Mom was a terrific cook, loved to play a good hand of cards and board games.

She looked forward to the summers when her children and grandchildren would come to the coast for a visit.

Mom was also a woman of strong Faith, always accepting of God`s will.

She loved her family dearly, and will be greatly and sadly missed.

The family will receive condolences at the Résidence Funéraire in Douglastown on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and before the funeral on Friday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
