Bessie Miller Patterson passed away peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Gaspe on July 23 at the age of 98. Born on Sept. 5, 1917, she was the daughter of Frederick Miller and Helena Stewart. She lived her entire life in Sunny Bank, near Gaspe.

Bessie was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, her son, Morris, grand-daughter, Sandy, and son-in-law, Gerry Phillips. She will be sadly missed by; Bruce (Shirley Phillips) Andy (Debbie Carmichael); Donna Phillips, daughter-in-law, Thelma McAfee Patterson, as well as 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive condolences at the Résidence Funéraire Valère Fortin Inc.,located at 86 Jacques Cartier St.,in Gaspé on Monday July 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.and before the funeral on Tuesday July 26 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The funeral will be at the Funeral Home, at 2 PM on Tuesday, followed by burial at St. Andrew's Cemetery in York.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hotel Dieu Hospital Foundation or St. Andrew's Cemetery Fund in York

Il n'y a pas d'évènement plus triste ou plus injuste que celui de perdre un être cher dans la mort. Notre Père céleste sait combien une telle perte est éprouvante puisqu'il a lui-même perdu son propre fils dans la mort. Psaumes 34 :18 nous dit que Dieu est près de ceux qui ont le coeur brisé. Mais rien n'est plus réassurant que la promesse qu'il nous a donner en Jean 5 :28,29 où l'on retrouve la certitude que Dieu va bientôt ramener à la vie tous ceux que nous avons perdus dans la mort et ce grâce à la résurrection. Puissent ces paroles de notre Père céleste vous apporter un peu de réconfort dans ce moment si difficile. Sincères condoléances.
