With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ted Collin Meredith, a truly kind and gentle man who left this world on May 26, 2026 at the age of 74.
Ted will be remembered for the warmth he brought into the lives of everyone around him. His kindness was unmatched whether it be a helping hand, a listening ear, a comforting smile, and a heart that always made room for others.
Born on August 20, 1951, Ted lived a life centered on compassion, family, and hard work. He devoted himself to those he loved and found joy in making others feel cared for and valued. Whether among friends, family, neighbors, or strangers, he had a unique way of making people feel welcome and appreciated.
He loved spending time with his family, and creating memories that will be treasured forever. His quiet strength, gentle spirit, and generous heart touched countless lives. Ted drove a school bus for over 40 years and absolutely loved his job. If you were to ask anyone, he was the best bus driver they ever had.
Ted is survived by his girls Carolyn (Codey) and Vicky (Tyler) and the lights of his life: his grandchildren Theo and Karlee.
He was preceded in death by his soul mate Shirley MacWhirter as well as his sister Margaret and brother Bill.
Though he may no longer walk beside us, the love and goodness he shared will remain in our hearts forever.
It's rare that an obituary brings tears to my eyes, but this was written perfectly. Ted was the kindest soul and I always enjoyed our chats. I hope the girls take comfort in knowing that their parents are now reunited, free of pain. Look back at the good times and cherish the memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
